Because life is not easy y quisieramos ser...
"En el tiempo real, en la historia, cada vez que un hombre se enfrenta con diversas alternativas opta por una y pierde las otras; no así en el ambiguo tiempo del arte, que se parece al de la esperanza y al del olvido." - J.L. Borges
Time is such an abstract
concept, yet it governs our daily life and how we choose to live it. We make
decisions based on how much time will
be needed and left to accomplish tasks; we use time to determine when we should make and/or break commitments, spend time with someone, spend time with something. Spend, waste,
enjoy…etc.
Time is in our daily
walk, talk, hearts and mind. And often overwhelms our minds, bodies and hearts. Time
has the power to create and destroy and in the midst of it all, it does not
allow us time to reflect. Things pass us by and
it feels like yesterday.
We wish, We wish, We wish and we continue wishing
things could be different or we wish to go back and do things differently
because perhaps today would be
different. We spend time thinking or
maybe waste time thinking.
Every time a decision is made, we gain something
and/or lose something else. Sometimes we are right, sometimes we are wrong. Sometimes we don't know what we’ve lost until time
passes us by. Other times we know. Deep down inside, we all possess
intuition, our gut feeling, our conscious and/or whatever keeps us going; we decide to be either presence or desire.
And just like time-alongside time, there is also hope and oblivion.
Be
steadfast in your hope. It should be
as constant as change. It is our
light and without it, we are left in the dark— oblivion.
Oblivion too,
occurs with time. Oblivion is forgetting and/or destroying or being
destroyed. Again, we make that decision. Oblivion is not as good as hope, for with hope we move past the darkness, accept its realities and although
we may wager sadness and contentment, we learn to become better human beings.
Getting lost is easy. And there are things in life that hurt so
bad. Grief transforms but, We decide its purpose.
Because life is not easy y quisieramos ser,
"Del amor el que no sufre (Of the love that does not suffer)
De la espera lo que resta, (Of the wait what is left)
Del boron la cuenta nueva" (Of the obliteration, the new account)
Sometimes all we can do is one day at a time. And for that, we should be
grateful. For every day is an opportunity to get something right this time around.
“Even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God” – Psalm 90:1
(This is my hope)
